Burnout

Burnout

Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged and excessive stress, often from work or caregiving responsibilities. It typically results in feelings of overwhelm, detachment, and a reduced sense of accomplishment, and it can lead to decreased productivity and motivation. Symptoms of burnout can include chronic fatigue, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and a sense of cynicism or negativity toward one's job or responsibilities. Burnout differs from general stress in that it tends to be more severe and longer-lasting, often requiring significant changes in work-life balance, rest, and recovery.
