Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, often called "talk therapy," is a therapeutic approach where individuals work with a mental health professional to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Its goal is to help people understand and address issues causing distress, develop healthier coping strategies, and make positive changes in their lives.
There are several types of psychotherapy, each with a different focus or method, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT): Centers on improving relationships and social interactions.
Psychotherapy is used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and relationship issues. It can be done one-on-one, in groups, or with couples or families.
